NEW RELEASE: Robert Storr's 672-page 'Writings on Art 1980–2005'

Featured spreads (showing a 1920s Suprematist relief sculpture by Ivan Puni on the top left; a 2003 acrylic on board by Richard Tuttle on the top right; and two relief sculptures by Frank Stella below) are from Heni's gorgeous new 672-page clothbound collection of Robert Storr's Writings on Art, 1980–2005—the first of a two-volume set. A new release this week, this monumental trove launches virtually Tuesday, November 17, with a conversation between the Storr and the book's editor, Francesca Pietropaolo, via Paula Cooper Gallery and 192 Books in New York. "Writing to someone, without knowing who that someone might be, is at the heart of Storr’s critical output," Pietropaolo writes. "There is a longed-for interlocutor, unnamed and yet ever present. The invitation to the reader to engage with a text, in dialog with the writer and with themselves, is palpable even in, or perhaps because of, its elusiveness. A self-declared 'insatiable scopophiliac bedeviled by the written word,' Storr proves to be one of the most influential and riveting art writers of our time. Infused with a remarkable agility of intelligence and an uncompromising belief in the importance of art, the writings collected in this book show just that and make sparks fly."
