Join us for a launch event Sunday, February 1 at 1:30 PM. ForYourArt presents Artist Books and Cookies: Celebrating LA, a special event with the Los Angeles Project artists in the Democracy Forum of the Japanese American National Museum, 111 N. Central Avenue. Artists are invited to celebrate the great artist book tradition of John Baldessari and Edward Ruscha by bringing a book they've made, or a favorite artist book, for a portrait by photographer Gaea Woods. Attendees will receive a free copy of the ForYourArt Guide to Los Angeles with personal and satirical tours of the city made by the seven Los Angeles Project artists especially for the guide. Signed copies of the Los Angeles Project books, co-edited by Karen Marta and Brian Roettinger, will be available, and cookies will be served.
On Saturday, January 31 at 3PM, Nikolai Haas will personally inscribe signed copies of the first issue of Whirled Travelers a limited edition zine produced by the Haas Brothers for the fair (edition of 200). The subject of Whirled Travelers 1 is LA-based designer Greg Chait of Elder Statesman.
And for collectors of John Baldessari, we are pleased to offer the limited edition John Baldessari Signed, Numbered Visionaire Platinum Edition. Published in an edition of 50, this highly collectible volume comes with a platinum silver print signed and numbered by the artist.
