ARTBOOK UNLIMITED-LIMITED EDITIONS, AVAILABLE IN OUR BOOTH
Mindy Abovitz-Monk
“WENT HOME DUE TO ALL THE NOISE”
The print by Mindy Abovitz-Monk is a responsive graffiti piece based on a performance of titled Getting Louder, which took place at Mana Contemporary in September of 2016. For the performance, Abovitz-Monk placed female drummers throughout the contemporary art space and had them performing at the top of every hour, with the dynamics and duration increasing each hour. During the performance, someone within the Mana space graffitied the wall with the text that the print responds to: "Went Home Due to All the Noise." The artist is using this motto to reclaim the performance and further challenge the notion of who is permitted to be loud and why.
Antoni Miralda
“New World Foods lighting the Old World”
The print by Antoni Miralda, "New World Foods lighting the Old World" pays homage to the creative community that frequented El Internacional Tapas Bar & Restaurant, the now legendary postmodern restaurant that the artist launched in Tribeca with Chef Montse Guillén in 1984. El Internacional combined avant-garde artistry and food, becoming an iconic symbol of New York in the 1980s through its nightly explorations of cross-cultural, trans-disciplinary aesthetics.
The Artbook Unlimited-Limited print series is printed on-demand on archival inkjet paper. Prices for standard print sizes are, 8.5x11 ($75), 11x17 ($150), 13x19 ($175), 24x18 ($200). Each print comes with a numbered signed certificate by the artist. For more information about the prints, email booksmomaps1@artbook.com.
