This summer, for its renowned Photo-Bookworks Symposium, Rochester's Visual Studies Workshop has invited national and international artists, critics, curators, and publishers to discuss the most challenging and innovative photobooks being created in the world today.
To support the conference, ARTBOOK | D.A.P. has set up a temporary bookstore, to run June 21-July 8. The store features books by the presenters, listed below, alongside a selection of new and classic photobooks and artists' books, including recent titles from VSW Press.
ARTBOOK is pleased to offer a symposium discount. In addition, there will be book signings by all presenters throughout the symposium weekend, including the legendary curator, theorist, educator, artist and founder of VSW,
Nathan Lyons, signing copies of his new book,
Selected Essays, Lectures, and Interviews, on Saturday, June 30 at 1pm. (Please see our

Summer Institute is a series of intensive workshops and an annual contemporary issues symposium conducted by current and visiting faculty.
The
Summer Institute is designed to stimulate new ways of working and thinking about work, as well as provide opportunities to expand technical skills and work with new processes.
The workshops address a wide variety of concerns in photography, visual books, film, video and related media.
