Join ARTBOOK | D.A.P. at the L.A. Art Book Fair

Join us in Booth E08 (at the front of the fair, near Printed Matter) for the second iteration of the LA Art Book Fair, opening January 30, and on view through February 2 at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

During the opening, on Thursday, January 30 at 7:00pm, Julian Hoeber will sign copies of his new monograph, published by Blum & Poe.

Throughout the fair, we are featuring a selection of books on photography, art, cultural criticism and design, as well as artists' books. Books on or by Dieter Roth and Sophie Calle have their own section. Our selection of Artist CDs, LPs and DVDs includes a large number by Mike Kelley. We are also featuring a choice selection of signed and out-of-print books with a focus on Doug Aitken. Limited editions are from The Vinyl Factory, Toilet Paper, Olafur Eliasson, Logorano/Reese and Olafur Eliasson, among others.

We also welcome the chance to visit with some of our client publishers who are also exhibiting at the fair—including Aperture, Boo-Hooray, Cabinet, Foggy Notion, Frieze, Gregory R. Miller & Co., The Ice Plant, ICI Press, J&L Books, Marquand Books, OSMOS, Primary Information, Siglio and Valiz.

ARTBOOK | D.A.P. is proud to be one of the founding members of the New York Art Book Fair, the LAABF's sister fair in New York, which last year drew more than 27,000 visitors. Together, these are two of the most exciting and intimate fairs in the world, bringing together many of the most experimental and committed book artists and small press publishers of our day in an atmosphere equally serious and euphoric.

Siglio publisher Lisa Pearson nailed the collective spirit in a review by the LA Times last year, citing the "sheer thrill and pleasure of touching, looking and reading books that do not obey the general conventions of what a book 'should be,'" elaborating, "This is not the familiar experience of walking into a bookstore.… The fact that all of these presses are defying the consistent death-of-the-book knells and making space for beautiful works taking the shape of a book … is testament to either a collective delusion or a real belief in 'the book' as a point of connection, as a lasting means of expression."

Visit our LAABF page for fair hours and directions.
