A long-term photographic study of civil resistance on a French commune German-born photographer Jürgen Nefzger (born 1968) documents a small French commune in Bure, where opponents of nuclear power have been campaigning for decades against the construction of a permanent disposal site for nuclear waste. The book includes Thoreau's famous "Civil Disobedience" essay, which influenced the project.
