Anthropomorphic tapestries at the border of the uncanny German-French artist Caroline Achaintre (born 1969) makes ceramics, watercolors and imposing, large-scale tapestries inspired by Primitivism and Expressionism. Teetering at the threshold of abstraction and representation, her works employ traditional craft techniques as a means for reflecting contemporary themes and aesthetics.
