Art 43 Basel: Hans Ulrich Obrist in Conversation with Walther Koenig and Sabine Moritz

As part of this year’s Art Basel Art Salon, Hans Ulrich Obrist, curator and co-director of London’s Serpentine Gallery, will host an informal discussion with the painter Sabine Moritz and renowned publisher Walther Koenig on Saturday, June 16 at 2PM.

Obrist and Koenig’s longstanding relationship has produced some of the most important documentation of artist’s talks over the last quarter-century; the German bookseller is the publisher of numerous Obrist titles, including his seminal Conversation Series.

Sabine Moritz’s recently completed artist’s book Jena Düsseldorf collects a series of extraordinary drawings evoking the history of East Germany (and Germany as a whole), through memorial sites, sculptures in public spaces, and various typologies of empty spaces, alongside a conversation with Obrist relaying the artist’s memories of childhood in East Germany.

This long awaited interview between Obrist, Koenig and Moritz will bring one of the art world's enduring relationships full circle. The discussion will take place Saturday, June 16 at 2pm, Hall 1, Auditorium.
