| | | MCA STORE at THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART AUSTRALIA, SydneyThe MCA Store first opened in 1991 and is located within The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA). In March 2012, a major redevelopment of the MCA was completed, and we’re now located within the new wing of the building, which connects Sydney’s largest thoroughfare to the harbour foreshore, with uninterrupted views across Sydney harbour! The museum itself was established through a gift by Australian expatriate artist John Power (1881-1943), who left his fortune to the University of Sydney to inform and educate Australians about contemporary art. The store was set up to support the project, with all profits reinvested back into the museum’s public programs. We currently stock exhibition catalogues and merchandise for all MCA shows alongside an extensive range of specialist publications covering contemporary art, design and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture. We’re also proud of our stimulating children’s section, with art related picture books, activity books and educational resources and our ever-changing selection of locally designed jewelry, gifts and homewares.
