Bertram Kober's photographs of the landscape surrounding Carrara, Italy reveal a mountainous terrain that has been radically changed, reshaped and also destroyed by marble quarries. Recalling the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich, these images are as atmospheric as they are intense.
