Marianna Simnett’s (born 1986) multichannel film installation Winner was commissioned on the occasion of the 2024 European Football Championship, which was hosted by Germany. Through the element of dance, the work radically transforms football’s most impassioned moments: triumph, brutality, ferocity and defeat.
