Iranian painter Farah Ossouli (born 1953) is best known for her modern interpretation of Persian miniatures, made with watercolor and gouache. Her intricate, vividly imagined works explore female sexuality within contemporary Islam and often feature corporally violent imagery, offset by their poetic form.
