Published by Walther König, Köln. Text by Michael Sanchez.
This is the first volume of a catalogue raisonné of German artist Michael Krebber (born 1954), whose sparse painted canvases draw from the formal language of Minimalism and abstraction. Featuring images, descriptions and critical texts, it includes all known works by Krebber through the year 2000.
Published by Walther König, Köln. Foreword by Anja Nathan-Dorn. Introduction by Kathrin Jentjens.
Published on the occasion of Michael Krebber's Cologne exhibition of the same name, this volume includes 96 drawings and paintings by the German conceptual painter born in 1954 and known in the 80s and 90s as the antithesis of other Berlin and Cologne painters like Baselitz, Lupertz, Kippenberger and Oehlen.
The artist and professor Michael Krebber recently invited his colleagues Gareth James, John Kelsey and Josef Strau to participate in an exhibition with the title Ical Krbbr Prdly Prsnts Gart Jas, Jon Klsy, Josf Stra. Minus a few of the necessary letters, the artists' names became a wall painting transformed into concrete poetry. As the exhibition freed itself from the curator's reins, the resulting exhibition catalogue also goes against conventional form and order. For example, a foreword by the editor turns out to be an artist's improvised speech on the topic of Puberty in Painting: "Now I have written: I can't decide any longer for one of these points of views or non-points of views." Artworks are not presented in groups by artist, but rather by associative links of picture strips, found-object texts, prose, drawings and collages.
Published by Walther König, Köln. Essay by Oswald Wiener.
The wide-ranging conceptual painter and artist Michael Krebber's Alien Hybrid Creatures addresses, among other things, the historical figure of the dandy--and among the dandies implicated is the spawning sea anemone on the cover. Published on the occasion of Krebber's (excellently titled) lecture "Puberty in Painting" at the Institute of Art History at the University of Cologne.

Published by Walther König, Köln. Essay by Helmut Draxler. Foreword by Matthias Herrmann.
Are Michael Krebber's most recent pieces, made from wooden stretchers and industrially produced colored fabrics, paintings? Perhaps in the sense that, as Helmut Draxler's essay observes, Krebber's work deals with the relationships between signs: "how figure and ground, form and format, surface and space, color and object, frame and wall, object and installation, light and place, material and reference, title and context, original and found material can be related to one another."
