Edited by Clare Preston. Text by Alison M. Gingeras. Interview by A.M. Homes.

American painter Jenna Gribbon (born 1978) is best known for her tender and intimate portraits of her wife, Mackenzie Scott. The Honeymoon Show! juxtaposes scenes from the couple’s honeymoon in Thailand against a new series of theatrically posed portraits of Scott, a musician who performs under the name Torres. Unraveling the dichotomies of fact and fiction, public and private, spontaneity and forethought, Gribbon explores the transformative act of looking through this vibrant new body of work. In an essay for the publication, Alison M. Gingeras writes, “The act of looking—the consensual, two-way scopophilia between artist and muse—and creating agency for the person being watched (and portrayed) are leitmotifs that run throughout Gribbon’s oeuvre.”
This volume is the artist’s third monograph and follows an exhibition of the same name at Lévy Gorvy Dayan Gallery in New York.
