German artist Andrea Büttner (born 1972) is best known for her large-scale woodcuts, though she works across a wide range of other mediums to reflect societal notions of poverty, shame, religion, labor, power and vulnerability. This catalog documents several recent site-specific installations.

German artist and 2017 Turner Prize nominee Andrea Büttner (born 1972) examines depictions of beggars in visual culture in this project about poverty, art history, theology and the politics of social benefits. Büttner presents a recent series of woodcuts, plus research conducted at the Warburg Institute, including a visual essay on the iconography of shepherds and kings in nativity scenes.
