Iranian painter, graphist, writer and film critic Aydin Aghdashloo (born 1940) is known for his portraits drawing on classical Italian and Persian imagery with faces covered or scratched out as a commentary on iconoclasm and censorship in the years since the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
