In 2009, Hermès invited artist Daniel Buren (born 1938) to design its emblematic silk scarves. Consisting of 365 unique pieces, Buren's series incorporates 22 of his Photos-Souvenirs, an artist-coined term which refers to an archive of thousands of photographs that he has accumulated since the 1950s.
