|   |   | ARTIMOAmie Dicke: VoidArtwork by Amie Dicke. Text by Brian Sholis, Wieteke van Zeil.
Armed with an X-acto knife, Amie Dicke meticulously cuts pieces out of magazine images of women until a sort of spider's web has been created; a lace prison of voids. Nothing is left of the model but her hair, her upper lip, and perhaps an eye. According to art critic Ana Finel Honigman, "Dicke's work intertwines sex and death so enticingly that her cut-outs could count as the Cliff Notes to Georges Bataille." Reproduced here are more than 70 of the artist's signature cuttings.
